·
The solo ensembles for MS was this past
weekend. Out students did extremely
well. We took 5 students, 2 students
received a 2 and 3 of them received 1’s.
·
In a group our size we should have around 30% of
our kids taking private lessons outside of school. PLU can bring in private lessons – a
satellite campus – for a one on one 3 ½ hour lesson. We discussed incentives for parents to
encourage their kids to take lessons.
For example, if they take lessons from Sept-June OPABC could pay back
the families one month’s rent. Could be
anywhere from $80 - $100. Or we might be
able to say Band camp is paid for. These
are just a few ideas that are out there right now. Aaron will get a list of instructors in our
area and see what interest is out there.
We will try and start something this summer.
·
Daffodil Parade is April 5th. High school is playing “Gonna Fly Now” from
Rocky. MS is playing “Every talks”. Water will be provided by OPABC, Brenda will
bring her truck to carry drum gear.
There will be 3 buses for the HS and 2 buses for the MS.
·
Band retreat – PLU is on board for clinicians –
Aaron will try and give them a Q & A time with him. The dates are April 7-10 starting Monday at
9:00am and ending Thursday at 11:30am.
Cost is around $85 per child.
Kids want a theme day so everyone is to dress like a superhero or
super-villain one day.
