Meeting Minutes for February 6, 2012.

Meeting was called to order at 7:01pm.

Roll call: Sign in sheet passed.

Minutes for the meeting on January 9, 2012 were approved.

Officer’s Report:

Treasurer: Merchandise sold/donations in Dec.= $270. Concerts: Jay-Z $557.36, tips $112.75; Prince $445.76, tips $126.50. Approximately $612.50 due for Monster Trucks (not in check form tonight). Balance in account $5851.38. Discretionary fund/box given to Aaron Ruff with $500 cash. ($92.50 spent for Rack and Blocks).

Committee Report:

*Fundraising: Food costs still need to be determined. Aaron and Todd will look into and report back at next meeting. Popcorn popper, slushie and cotton candy machines available (Kathryn Spader)

*Advertising: Therese Williams and Kathryn Spader will make fliers. Must get approval from School District to send home with students.

Old Business:

* Drum mallets, purchase pending. $260.

* Oboe purchased, paid for.

* Fees requested for MS and HS festivals. May 12^th and May 19^th. Discussed coming from the Discretionary Fund.

Upcoming Fund raisers:

* Cook and Clean. May 19^th. $20 to rent Train Street (reserved by Becky Meek).

* Tacoma Dome. Volunteer sign up sheet passed. May 5/Van Halen; May 14/Rammstein and June 23/Nickleback.

New Business:

* Band Retreat. 3 Students need financial assistance. Private donors have covered.

* Discussed option of supporting Band Camp financially. Motion made to give $1500 to support retreat. 2nd/passed.

Other discussions:

* Discussion about a “Day Camp” for 3-6^th graders. Near 6^th grade registration time. Approximately $15 per child. Bring Lunch. 10 am – 3 pm. “Musical Petting Zoo”

* Discussion on looking into the cost of new uniforms.. cheap and to the stars.

* Tupperware fund raiser. More info to come from Mindy Brunson.

* Asked by Aaron to be “go between” with Laura Fisher for band t-shirts. Boosters agreed to write check for full amount once Aaron had the money collected from his students. Cost is $18 per student.

* Drum-Line hoodies. Asked for same arrangement as above.

Announcements:

* March 15^th, 6^th grade concert.

* Recruitment Concert. April 27^th (Friday)

Meeting was called to order at 7:03 pm.

Minutes for the meeting on December were approved.

Officer’s Report:

Treasurer: Money from Prince on counter at Melots. Oops.

* Motion/2^nd/Passed by Board and approved by Members for a Discretionary fund for use by Aaron Ruff. ($500, cash, to be placed in lock box with receipt book, Aaron is required to provide a monthly report and this fund will be reviewed each fiscal year and adjusted as necessary.)

Committee Report: None.

Old Business:

* Percussion Rack was built ($50 from discretionary fund).

* Oboe purchase approved by board. Motion/2^nd/Passed for $350 purchase of oboe approved by Members.

* Discussed possible Krispie Kreme fund raiser.

Upcoming Fund raisers:

* Tacoma Dome: Van Halen: May 5 (Leanne, Melanie, Andrea, Brenda, Michael, and Todd). Rammstein May 14 (Aaron).

* May, Cook and Clean. Ideas: Car Wash possibly on Train Street (kids washing cars) Burgers (hot dogs/burgers/drink/chips/cheese/condiments) cost based on 400 head count Aaron will price food from Camp Arnold.

New Business:

* Motion/2nd/Passed to purchase mallets. (bass mallets: 1 small/2medium/1 large $260)

* Jazz Band Competition: May 4 and 5, $210 Belvue HS (Hamlets to chaperon) Motion/2^nd/Passed to cover registration fee.

Other discussions:

* Camp Arnold Band Retreat. March 23-25. Committees: Loading/Unloading Crew: Michael. Registration Table: Brenda and Chaperons: Brenda. Financial support requested from Boosters. Discussion about giving tip money from upcoming concert. Cost is estimated at $150 per person. Motion made and tabled until next meeting.

Announcements:

* April 14, Daffodil Parade Chaperons: HS- Todd, Leanne, Michael and Andrea; MS- Laura, Mindy or Ryan and Talents.

* March 15, 6^th grade concert at 7pm

* May 12^th, HS festival – Bethel -Brenda

* May 19^th, MS festival - Beckie

Meeting was called to order at 7:02 pm.

Officer’s Report:

Treasurer:$5,912.59: balance in account. $65 from Basketball. Todd is attempting to clarify the bills we keep receiving from the Music store.

Committee Report: None.

* Motion/2nd/Passed: “Doing something as a fund raiser on Saturday, May 19.”

Old Business:

* Motion/2nd/Passed not to sell at the next basketball game. Amended Motion/ 2nd/Passed not to sell at basketball games at all this season.

Upcoming Fund raisers:

*Tacoma Dome: Jay-Z (Michael, Andrea, Kevin H, Trina, Aaron, Tanya,Todd and Brenda. Prince (Trina, Kevin H, Kevin S, Beckie, Tanya, Michael, Aaron and Melanie). Brad Paisley (Kevin H, Trina, Todd, Tudie, Kevin S, Aaron, Leanne, Michael, Andrea, and Melanie).

New Business:

* Possible CD's? Yes, but not sure when. :)

* Michael donated $25 to Valley Trophy for Band members t-shirt.

Other discussions:

* Dec 14, Concert (just band) at OHS at 7pm

* Aaron is still looking into festivals.. more info to come
