III.       Minutes (Tanya)
            Topical reading of the Jan 7th minutes.
            Motion to approve, Josh T., Seconded Deb T., All in favor, minutes approved.

                        1.         Choir Director, Jackie Backus
·         Upcoming performances:  Variety Show Feb 23rd, OMS Talent Night Mar 12,
Alumni Variety Show May 18th
                        2.         Band Director, Aaron Ruff
·         Able to purchase two Yamaha mid-range quality Euphoniums within the price range approved by the membership in January meeting.
·         As mentioned before, District approved $500 per semester for repairs.
First step is to repair what we already have, afterwards begin new instrument and music purchases.
·         Jazz Festival March 23 at Graham Kapowsin High School
$250 fee.  OSD to provide transportation costs?
Evidence that OSD should support these costs: 
We are extracurricular, academic and a club.
·         Camp Arnold Retreat April 1-4
$250 deposit needed
Chaperones needed
Estimated cost of Retreat $6,000 to $7,500
                                                Solicited contribution from OPABC $1,500 based on past donations.
                                                Propose to pay clinicians, $120 fee each, approx 10 clinicians
                                                General discussion about proposal, decision to table pending further investigation.
·         Pasta Dinner Feb 9th, Orting Eagles Hall
·         Jazz playing for Project Graduation March 15th, High Cedars Golf Club
·         Melanie E, Motion to pay $250 deposit to Camp Arnold
Kevin H, Seconded motion, all in favor, motion approved.
·         Trina H, Motion to pay $250 fee for GK Jazz Festival
Deb T, Seconded motion, all in favor, motion approved.

·         School Board Meeting, March 7th
Encourage parents to be there to support promotion of the Band program seeking an additional Director, allowing extra class periods. 
Suggest a parent meeting to prep for the School Board meeting, appointing a spokesperson to vocalize parent’s experiences and desires for students in OSD.
Planned meeting to be Feb 25th, 7:00 pm, OMS Band Room.
            B.        Bylaws (Brenda)
                        Revised Bylaws posted online and emailed Jan 25th, invitation to review 2nd reading.
                        Bylaws up for adoptive vote.
                        Kevin H, Motion to adopt the revised Bylaws.
                        Josh T, Seconded motion, all in favor, motion approved.
            C.        501c3 Application (Brenda)
                        With approval of Bylaws, application will be prepared to mail off this week.
            D.        Holiday Craft Fair (Trina H, Chairperson)
                        Dec 7, 2013 @ Ptarmigan Ridge School

Noted:  Our event takes place on the same date as Victorian Country Christmas at Puyallup.
Noelle presented needs to be accomplished, time to act now.

VI.       New Business (Brenda)
            A.        Spirit-Apparel and Merchandise
                        1.         Soliciting new sweatshirt designs from OHS/OMS Band/Choir students
·         Students submit designs to Band/Choir Director by March 4th.
·         Performing Arts students vote to decide top 3 designs
·         OPABC members will vote on top three designs chosen by students.
·         New merchandise will be ordered spring 2013, available to purchase by fall.
2.         Miscellaneous merchandise items to order/sell
            General ideas from those present:
·         stadium blankets, key chains, jewelry, thermal cups, bleacher cushions, etc.
3.         Mary Hamlet to make beanies, donate for merchandise sales
            B.        Tacoma Dome (Brenda)
                        Bob Seger with special guest Joe Walsh
