Member Meeting

November 3, 2014

Facilitator:  Michael Melot, President

I. Call to Order   7:00 pm

II.   Introduction of Board.   Bret Lathrop and Andrea Melot, excused.

III. Attendance:  Please sign in on attendance sheet; provide all requested information if we do not yet have it. (we will not share your info and we send e-mails via Blind Courtesy Copy – BCC so as to keep info private) - attached

IV. No minutes from October meeting due to technical issues.

V. Treasurer’s Report (Bret) - No report.  Low on band appareal, sold a lot at last concert. Will not reorder until next year.

VI. Unfinished/Open Business

A. Thank a Teacher!  Go online to Thankamillionteachers.com  and vote for Aaron Ruff…winning recipients receive a $2500 grant…selections made several times per year...VOTE REPEATEDLY (if possible)
B. Craft Fair:  Partnering with the PTA.  Kid crafts during the middle of the day.
1. Set-up between 7:30 - 9am;  Clean-up between 3 - 5pm
2. Brenda looking for folding tables and front table.
3. Looking for teens to load/unload.
4. Need help for refreshments.   (Brenda will create sign-up sheet.)

VII. New Business

A. Tacoma Dome:  Please make sure your food handler’s card / alcohol server’s card is up to date.  Upcoming shows:  Thursday, November 20, Fleetwood Mac.; Judas Priest, Nov. 22;  Monster Trucks - January 9,10, 11;  Saturday, March 28- Maroon 5.  Sign-up sheet is being passed.  Please include a valid email address.. we have had some emails returned as undeliverable to the addresses we have.    

B. Spaghetti Feed.  Brenda will check on date...March 21?

VIII.   Director(s) Time

A. Buffalo Wild Wings.. possibly $300-$500 raised.
B. Jazz band to Spokane this weekend.  $500 donation to Jazz band. Will only use $500 from Boosters budget.  $65 per person.  Bus was less.
C. Middle School doing better.  A & G will be doing some team teaching with Jazz band.  8th grade struggling;   6th and 7th doing well.   OMS Concert Dec. 9.

VIIII. Next meeting: Monday, December 1 @ 7pm @ OHS

II.   Introduction of Board.   Meeting conducted by Melanie (VP).

IV. Reading and approval of minutes from Sept. meeting , motion by Brenda 2nd by Suzanne.

V. Treasurer’s Report (Bret) - Budget meeting was held.  All audits for 2013-2014 completed.  It was a "healthy year."  Positive balance.
A.      Form 990 filed.. 10/6
B.       Any who purchased items for the pasta feed and want to be reimbursed need to provide receipts.
C.       Rough draft of new budget proposed but not voted on.

B. The next football game is Friday, Oct. 10,  Andrea and I will be covering the table unless there is someone else who is willing.  
        C.   Email was sent to members with link for permits and licenses  for T-Dome.
D. Pep band meals.  A big thanks to Brenda L. for taking care of feeding the kids and making sure that food is actually there.
E. Craft fair:  Brenda, Megan and Noel are in charge.  Check date and reservations.

VIII.   Director(s) Time

A. Aaron expressed desire for a keytar.  Motion made by Deb T. for $750, 2nd by Louise H. for purchase of Keytar.  Aaron will coordinate with Bret for the specifics of purchase.
B. Geoff said thanks to the District for 4 new bassons and a marimba.  MS concert will not be combined with the HS.  Dec. 9th @ 7pm.
C. November 1: Buffalo Wild Wings..fundraiser.  Fliers available at the door.
