Help Needed.

Hopefully everyone is having an enjoyable Holiday!  It is time to begin looking forward to 2012 (can you believe it?) and checking our calendar for availability to volunteer at the Tacoma Dome on the weekend of January 13th at 8pm, 14th at 2pm and 8pm and 15th at 1pm.  These are the dates for the Monster Truck and we are in need of YOU!  The OPABC needs to provide a minimum of 6 volunteers per show.  All YOU need is your current food handlers permit, a valid alcohol license and a willing spirit.. and maybe some comfortable shoes. :)  
There have been a few step forward, if this is you, mark your calendar. January 13th:  Kevin H, Melanie E (possibly), Michael M, and Tanya N.  We still need 2 -3 more helpers for the 13th.  January 14th:  Kevin H (both shows?), Trina H and Melanie E. We could use 2-3 more for both shows on the 14th.  January 15th: Michael M.  We need 5 more volunteers for this show!

Please email me as soon as possible if you are available so that we can be certain who will be helping us.  Thanks for all your support.

November 7.

Orting Performing Arts Booster Club

Meeting Minutes for November 7, 2011.
Meeting was called to order at 7:01 pm.
Roll call: Sign in sheet passed.
Minutes for the meeting on October 12, 2011 were not discussed.

Officer’s Report:
Treasurer: None. Todd was not present.
* Motion made to reimburse Aaron $150 for music expense. 2nd/Passed.
Committee Report:
No committees. VP/ Sec not present.


Old Business:
None discussed.


Upcoming Fund raisers:

* Basketball games. Motion made to not sell at games/ 2nd/ Not passed. Motion amended to sell at FIRST combined home game/2nd/Passed. Tanya and Brenda volunteered to sell. Wed. November 30 @ 4:45pm. Will revisit and evaluate at the meeting in December.
* Tacoma Dome. Dec 16th. (Volunteers in Oct minutes). Jan 13/14/15 Monster Trucks, Feb 11 Volunteer names not taken.

New Business:
* No craft fair in December. Motion/2nd and Passed.
    * Family assistance with cost of uniforms discussed. $50. Aaron to get more information. Cost is $23 per shirt.
Other discussions:
* Dec 14, Winter concert at OHS (possibly December 12th).
* December 1, 6th grade Band
* Nov 17, Daffodil Selection
    * Nov 19, Fox Hollow
    * Board Members meeting needed to identify and define the purpose and uses of a “discretionary fund” for Aaron. Must be added to Bi-laws. More information will follow.
Announcements:
* Possible Festivals for Jazz and Concert Bands.
* Retreat fundraiser Nov 14 – Nov 28. Todd and Tanya will help distribute to students. Frozen items.

Meeting was called to order at 7:04 pm.
Roll call: Sign in sheet passed.
Minutes for the meeting on September 12, 2011 were approved. .
Officer’s Report:
Treasurer: Taylor Swift - $496.96. Pasta Feed: $1486.00 (tickets) + $508.00 (apparel) + $594.00 (auction thus far) = $2588.00 – $509.44 (food) - $71.98 (more food) = $2006.58 total. Tail gate Party cost $93.13


Committee Report: No Committees.
* Do we want to do this again? May or June?

Old Business:
* Rehash Pasta Feed.
    Next time consider: pre-selling tickets/seating times assigned, location change (MS or Soldier's Home), more bread, more red sauce less pesto, fans, possibly no auction/ moving auction location, seating in box at back.


Upcoming Fund raisers:
* Tacoma Dome. December 16. Volunteers: Todd, Leanne, Michael, Andrea, Kevin H, Aaron, Tanya, Trina. Possibly Brenda.

New Business:
* “O”s. Vinyl. Melanie and Mindy to make. $5 per. $1 back to Melanie.
* Trina will purchase/donate new “mallet” bucket.


Other discussions:
* Drum-line in this week. Itemized bill still to come.
* Jazz Trip. $20 donation from families to Boosters. Only about $85 needed from OPABC for trip.
* Aaron's Needs: $150 rhythm program/books. Motion made to purchase the program for the band. 2nd and Passed. Aaron will let us know final cost.

* December 10th, Christmas concert from Auction.
* March 22-25, Band Camp
